MOSES BURKETT

Mr. Burkett graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He brings over 15 years of experience working in multiple corporate positions and more than ten decades of experience managing other businesses. His passion for working with kids started in college. He worked as a work-study student at the Olde English Consortium (OEC), whose primary function was to provide resources to less fortunate districts through collaboration.

CARLA JACKSON
Kindergarten
I am Carla Jackson, and I fell in love with education many years ago. My first experience with the desire to teach education happened when I was finishing up my bachelor’s degree at Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina. While as a student at Morris, I was afforded the opportunity to volunteer in the campus daycare, where my love for teaching began. That love continued to grow as I studied Maria Montessori’s work and taught Montessori lower elementary students for ten years in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system. During my time at CMS, I was selected as an honoree of Coca-Cola’s “Teacher of the Year” award. When I am not impacting the leaders of tomorrow, I enjoy gardening, listening to music, cooking, and travel. I am so excited to start the next chapter of my teaching career at Monroe Charter School.
